About Strongbrand

Meet Bill.

Bill Hodgson, founder of Strongbrand

Clear thinking, creative ideas and a personal commitment to your organisation.

I originally had a career in the City of London, during which I launched a brand ‘The OTC Space’ which included a news website, global magazine, events and videos. This worked well whilst city firms had marketing budgets and eventually reached a natural end.

During that time I became fully aware of what marketing teams wanted and their view of the world, so I turned that around and began offering marketing to city firms and built websites.

I moved away from the city and took up marketing full time, bringing my city clients and then buying a small marketing firm and their portfolio of clients. With a small team we provided services to all sorts of business from building supplies to accountancy, and delivered some great websites and campaigns.

I have found that businesses and charities who see marketing holistically achieve the best results – just making a website on its own doesn’t always deliver significant results (but having a website is better than not having one).

What I like about marketing is the creativity for concepts, story telling and visual design. What I find hard about marketing is the indirect and uncertain investments every firm has to make to get traffic and attention online – I wish it could be a more direct outcome and easier to justify to clients.

With AI some say marketing will become something you can conjure with a prompt. Realistically marketing needs people and human brains to be successful, even if there are some AI shortcuts.

My values

How I work matters.

Honesty

Being honest means offering ideas and options which make sense for your organisation. Being honest means owning our mistakes and fixing them. Being honest means allowing you and us to share information openly.

Trust

Honesty is the foundation of trust. Trust means doing what you say you will. Trust means being there in bad times, and saving the situation when needed. Trust means a long term relationship where both parties look out for each other.

Commitment

Making a meaningful investment in a customer relationship. Understanding your organisation fully and supporting your goals. Commitment means going the extra mile, regardless of contracts.

About us

The people behind the work.

I don’t work alone, I work alongside experts in design, technology and social media. We get things done and trust each other. For each project we undertake you get to meet and work with these experts to learn from their knowledge.
